Shooting a shot with maximum left or right spin, even with a 12.4 mm Revo, still produces a significant amount of deflection. It only changes the aim line for shots with spin, and even then only slightly. Low deflection has NOTHING to do with accuracy. Please explain how you can hit a shot with more power without affecting the speed of the shot. The other side to that is it's extremely easy to hold the cue ball on slight-angled shots. A good example of this would be an almost-straight in shot where you somewhat rely on shaft deflection to create the angle to move the cue ball two rails with outside english. I will say that sometimes I miss the "whippiness" of wood shafts that helps move the cue ball around. It will definitely help with shots applying an extreme amount of english. I know that the majority of my misses are not caused by my equipment, but rather my mechanics. Will it make you a better player? You'd have to really believe your mechanics are perfect and when you miss it's solely because of squirt and deflection to think it's going to make you a better player. If you ribbon-stroke it off, it just transfers back from your hand. on your hands inevitably embeds itself into the shaft. This does not work with a Revo! Wood shafts are porous so the sweat, grime, chalk, etc. When my inning is done, I'll stand with my hand my shaft waiting for my turn. you know, the kinds of games you rarely have time to sit down while playing. Again, this will vary from player to player, but I play a lot of banks and one pocket. While it is extremely smooth when it's clean, it is NOT EASY to keep clean.
